Ducked out last Monday for a quick arvo session with Josh my neighbour chasing cobes and snapper in the shallows off Noosa with placcies and 15lb gear. First hour was quiet and as we got closer to sunset Josh hooked up to a solid fish and after a good 15 min fight and a few runs we had a 7.5kg Cobe in the boat. Repeated the same drift a couple of times and then I hooked into a good size fish near the bottom on the wind up. After a few minutes I had it near the surface and a nice cobe breached and put on a good show. 5 minutes later and 6kg cobe was in the boat. The sun set, we powered back to the bar and off home. Lovin Noosa, Cheers Dave

Good fun sized fish Josh and Dave and you certainly gave them a fighting chance on 15lb gear - well done.

Reminds me of the days we used to fish for mack tuna up to 13kg on 6kg line and tiny lures when they would only take matchstick size baits - 45 minutes a fish and RSI of elbows after two fish - but at least you can get a feed from your fish.
