Went out from Mooloolaba last sunday morning, headed north along the beach to arkwright shoal, jackette20000 caught 48cm dinner in 12 metres in 2 mins on servosquid, we persevered for another hour and nada. Jack.

My eyes were more agog than the fish, it's the 2nd time I have been in the sea fishing, I had the rod a penn multiroller and reel TLD 25 loaded with 20 pound and 3 boston stranglers with 2.0 gamatsu's in the rod holder and all I did was wind. Jack20000 netted him. I cooked him in butter and woolies fish breadcrumbs, now jack20000 insists we get up at 4am sat and sun and get some more. Jackette20000.

How do you catch pearlies in 12 m of water????
where we are they are more usual in 48 fathoms, although we do catch good ones in 32 fthms??

Must have been lost.....

I am starting to think this is the case.........but it was in Queensland:D:D:-X

Congrat's nice prize in close water's. You never stop learning on the migratory habits of fish.
also it's good too see the girls holding dinner up high. It's a team effort. The boy's slay'em and the girls do the justice by cooking them.
before I get gaffed for being a shovenistic pratt.., I meant well on that one.
cheers

I have fished arkwright for a few years now and it's not unusual to get some big fish there jiggling servosquid with the sinker laying on the bottom, however a pearlie blew me away, I am sure it's because jackette is from Adelaide!!! Jack.

I mentioned this fish's proximity to my father and he said his Dad used to catch them all the time from the rocks and whale jetty in Byron in the 30's,40's & 50's. In his words, "The ones with the big eyes". Jack.

Yep apart from all the blue smoke free love and all the parties, fishing back then would've been awesome.
cheers,
Viper.

Bagged out on pearlies in 21m off Indian Head on Fraser on soft plastics. If given a chance they will spread out anywhere.
