I've got a few quick questions.
I have johnson 35hp around 2001 modle, runs great, however it has a few chips and scraches in the propeler, I was wondering, when do you replace it? Can it be fixed? Who can fix it or what are resonalble prices of getting a new/secondhand one?

Cheers,
daki

For the most part, you simply file away the ragged edges on the edges of the blades so there is less restrictions as it spins through the water. My current prop has worn away about 15mm off the tailing edge from running through sand and mud banks over the past few years. Every few trips I give it a little lick with the file to clean the edges again. Bent blades are best left for a prop specialist to repair if possible.
Generally though, it takes a lot of damage to render a prop useless.

That's cool, thanks for your answer as it gives me some direction. I'll give filing a go, it's more preventative maintenance, so we'll see how it goes.
