cheers brendan
got him out cal wide last trip. very strange when i went to gut him, the only thing in there was a "big" heart and that was it, he was empty, never seen a fish like that before. may have been a good sign that they were about to come on the chew after a full moon famine??

They are good eating and I get them to 5kgs off the top end of Fraser Island. They do school up in the deeper water.

Gold Band Snapper, yum yum yum...you can i.d it by the two or three gold bands through the eye edged in blue and the filament hanging off the rear of the dorsal fin.

Looks like a Rosy to me.....marketed as Goldband snapper hence the stripe.........good chewing
They are the number one target up here for the fish trap boats in the Timor sea.......I have caught them to about 80mtrs on a rod and to about 8kg.
