can any one suggest at good place around the keppels tht is a good place to start snorkeling and spearing. i would like to be able ot take my son and missus out for a quiet snorkel and spear.

i would give the northern end of wreck beach a look. Nice shallow reef but you can swim out to the point once the sons sick of it.

Miall is a great place to learn, particularly on the Eastern and Western sides, and as far as I'm aware It's not overly sharky. Though I did spend a solid 3 hours spearing there last friday for little results.
