Went offshore tweed this arve and got smoked (reefed) on my bait jig after the fish peeled off 100m of line. No livies today but used my secret dead bait on my specially designed rig. On the way out the wind picked up strong from 10knots NE to around 15 to 20 knots NE/NW. The wind made the drift ridiculously fast even with the parachute out, plus oli went for a sleep leaving me to fish solo. But the fish were there with both my rods going off together. Did about 7 drifts and left them biting. The score was 3 jew (115cm/15kg, 93cm, 88cm) and 4 trag (60 to 70 cm). On the way back i noticed that the wind was light in close. Fun times but the phone photos are pretty ordinary unfortunately.

what do you reckon it is that smokes the jigs? I have had that happen quite a few times now, it seems the fish hit the bait when its just been hooked up..... im thinking cobes or jew, but never landed one to find out!!! always throw a livie over while jigging bait, but its always the jig that gets hit!!!!
