I am wondering what the guys out there with a centre console have for a seat box?

I am going to upgrade my rig shortly and the seat box from the manufacturer is $995 which I recon is a bit steep.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

120l esky fron techni ice with padded seat from the previous seat box secured to top with velcro and techni ice tiedowns does the job for me. The previous seat box was ok but leaked in heavy spar or rain. Look on flea bay for cheaper versions of this esky from the same company cost me about $150 all up.

I have a 140lt evakool with 100mm padded seat supported in an alloy frame with back rest. It's a big space saver as no need for seperate esky.

Just looking at my options and found this thread

GS Marine or Extreme Marine will not sell you this seat box unless you buy one of their boats!

Does any one now if there are any DIY type fittings you can use with a standard esky to build one your self?

I use a 150l techni ice poly esky in the boat at the moment. It sits on tube mat and stays where it should even in rough seas. Its pretty high so I havent put any cushion on top as tet. It replaced a 120L job that was a better seat when fitted with a cushion but was a bit short on space when a few good fish were added to the equation

Thanks for the replies

They look interesting, will dig around and see if they are still available

I looked at boatbox but they quoted me $2500 plus freight. I think the freight to Darwin then over to Gove would be costly!

Mainly want one to accommodate my kids when out fishing

I have got a 90l esky with a cushion and backrest that sits on top of a wooden box to give it height as my seat. The whole lot is strapped to the floor and can be lifted out and moved up the front of the boat when needed for sleeping.
