Just wondering if anyone can shed a bit of light on whether a safety certificate for the trailer is required when selling a boat in QLD for re-registering purposes? A mate of mine is selling his boat and the potential buyer has asked the question. Any info would be greatly appreciated...Thanks, Matt

Hi if it is under 750 kgs no. If you have brakes whether they be o/ride or any other the answer is yes. my boat and trailer was under 750 all up but as he had o/r brakes he had to get a RW, so on advice from mechanic he took the brakes off and gave them to me. whole load all up was 550kgs.
Above advice is correct over 750kg with brakes roadworthy required lasts for two months privately and three months for a dealership. You need to have the certificate prior to advertising the boat for sale.
