Hi all,

I am chasing some material to use for my trailer skids for my haines. The current skids are marking the hull a bit.

Does any one know where i can track down some softer skid material around the sunshine coast or brisbane. I have noticed quite a few glass boats with the white teflon cutting board stuff.

Cheers.

Jeff.

Jeff,

I used HPDE in black. I have also fitted this same stuff on another mates trailer and its like sliding on ice, dont take your safety chain off before the boats in the water. I got that through Dotmar in Brisbane, much cheaper and they will cut to size what ever you want.

I just read this post and yes Dotmar at Archerfield have a lot of this kind of stuff.

Industrial Plastics at Morningside also stock this kind of thing.

Head straight to "Eplas" at underwood. They have everything you need, cut it there and then and you're on your way. I've got it all over my trailer for the Riptide.

I got mine from USA, you can buy them in almost any size you want .

I got the 5" wide ( they are 1/2" thick ) and 5' long, they come pre drilled ( countersunk 1/4" ) so the screws never touch the gelcoat. They come complete with S/S screws . I took the carpet of the bunks but you can bolt them on the top of the carpet if you wish.
Especially made for boat bunks in white nad very slippery, just like good rollers.
I bought mine direct from this mob but they won't ship to Australia because they are to long. I arranged my own shippng.

almost any plastic specialists will have what you need, just tell them what you want it for and they will see you right, by the way, do NOT use an old cutting board.
