Heard on the grapevine that there's a new line up of lighter weight yamaha fourstrokes released either late this year or early next year.......150hp-175hp 4cyl larger capacity than the current 150 but down near the 190kg mark.

Wondering if anyone else has heard or found some evidence on the net.

I'm looking at the 140suzy ATM but if a new 150 yammy turns up it would be good to have a choice at that weight for HP range.

I have a 150hp Yammie 4 stroke, and one thing that would make it even nicer would be less weight so it will be interesting to see what they come out with. Weight is always an issue with 4 strokes particularly on skinnier boat designs so I would imagine that all manufacturers are working toward lighter engines. So long as it is not at the expense of longevity and reliablity it will be most welcome being such a popular size range for boats around that magic 6.0 metre.
