GC Cobia 03/08

[two dogs]

Caught out from the seaway around the 20 fathom mark last wednesday. Not much luck with other species, few trag and tailor, only one undersized snapper. Cant seem to find any in close yet. Broke up with another 2 probable cobia, one on a live yakka, one completely outgunned on a plastic outfit. This one took something small that was already hooked on a bottom bashing rig so lucky to get him in. Ended up with two hooks in him though which may have helped but jeez it was hard pulling him up with a hook in the dorsal! For a gauge im 5'10 and could only just get it of the ground in that pic!

Thanks guys. Didn't get a weight unfortunately honda, scales broke haha! I was thinking at least 25kg? Havent caught many things this big so i am really just guessing. I like to think im quite the strapping lad and it was a strain to get it off the ground for a pic.

Good cobia mate well done, you can tell it was a good weight by the way your holding it.
