Stacer 3.1 Rego

Hey guys I have a stacer 3.1m that I want to get registered. I have checked out the maratime site but I am still not sure what I am doing. The boat doesnt not have a HIN or Boatcode, any advice on what I have to do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What state are you in matey and what size outboard is on it?

if in NSW you need to take it to an authorised dealer with some sort of proof of purchase, they will measure it and so on and fix a boat code plate to it, then off to the Maritime you go and register it, pretty simple process as long as you have all the info they need.

Thanks! I am in NSW. It only has a 4hp on it at the moment as thats what my old man had sitting around and I believe I cant have any more then a 5hp if the boat is unregistered?

HIN should be on the yellow capacity sticker or stamped near on the right hand rear carry handle, it's very strange not to at least be stamped on.

Thanks, but there is nothing on the boat that indicates capacity and I cant find a HIN anywhere, the boat is very old by the looks of it. Is it true that I can only put up to a 5hp on it if its unregistered?

aahh, yup, 5HP max, and I do believe they are going to change that again soon to some sort of "potential speed" sort of a setup, how or when, i have no idea.
