Had a nice day out with Fish The Deep on Thursday fishing mainly on the 50's and later back in on the 42's and 36's. Wind was around 15 knots all day S - SW with sloppy seas.

Live bait was hard to get but eventually we had enough to go with (all yakkas - no slimies). A few Tuna around the bait schools caused some chaos on the bait jigs!

Slack current on the 50's and the Kingies weren't playing but we soon found the Cobes with 5 coming on board and a couple of good ones lost on the surface. Drifted for snapper and picked up a few on floatlines and bottom rigs, then went back and picked up two small Kingies (6/7kg) from where we started. Hard work thus far we went in to the 42's and picked up some good Trag in numbers but no-one bagged out. Finally went to a Sambo mark and picked up a nice one around 14kg on the heavy gear.

All together a hard days work but some fair results for those who kept at it. Everyone caught some nice table fish to take home and everyone either boated or fought a good sized Cobe or Kingie. Lots of tackle changes during the day and we tried several different methods to catch. No complaints from the clients (as they also had a free whale watching trip) except from three people who wished they had taken some proper sea sickness tablets before they left home rather than just travel tablets!
Cheers

PS: My freezer is beginning to fill up again so I am happy :)

Good to see you back out again Plato.

Nothing better than fresh fish ya caught from the sea.
