Long time ausfish member Rob Smith (smithy) has finally tied the knot, and no its not a fishing not.The 16th of july was his and jules day to remember.
So for those who want to take the time to congratulate him heres your chance.
Not sure if this the right section but you can move it and everyone knows his awsome reports on the offshore section.
So congrats to you both.
Cheers Mick.

"Mr and Mrs Smith" kinda sounds like the title for a movie.

Congratulations Rob and Jules - no doubt your best catch Rob.

Thanks everyone. Sitting in an internet cafe in Bangkok. Thanks Mick for starting the post and giving me the heads up on Facebook. Have seen lots of koi carp in ponds also some other native species and mekong catfish, one tackle shop at a market but they were Aussie whole sale prices, lots of shrimp and fish farms, a few guys fishing or shrimping in canals and off beaches but snorkelling was a bit dissappointing compared to our reefs. Swimming beside plastic bags and bottles, cigarettes, band-aids etc. bought a new dimension to it you don't have here. Did see a nice big grass sweetlip at a market, a legal size red emperor in a tank at the government gem factory and lots of grass parrot etc. and a big estuary cod snorkling.

That's a interesting range of seafood... I'm guessing you'd be a bit leery of eating it though? I saw on TV that, contrary to popular belief, a mussel from those waters won't kill you. It'll take at least five. :devilish:

In any case, it beats my honeymoon -- we went to Teemburra and caught stuff all! Glad to see you guys are having such a great time. :)

Congrats mate all the best.
Thailand sounds interesting- particularly the sealife. In all my years diving and fishing in Australia I am yet to see an estuary cod that snorkels. Maybe a sign of good luck and prosperity??

Congrats mate that's a committed skipper that wants to keep a good deckie. All the best.

P.S. I went for a beer at kawana pub last Friday. The new boat certainly looks the goods.
