I actually went for a run in a Clark 427 on Monday. It had 3mm sides also which i think set him back an extra $400. It actually goes really well with the 30hp Suzuki as i was expecting it to be a slug but wasnt. Not sure of the price of the Stessco tho but this rig was $8250 with 3mm bottom and sides.
been in a clark and thought it was a good bang for buck entry range, the bluefin rogue would be another i'd consider. same ballpark price range.

Hey all, been browsing for a while but first post!
I purchased a Clark 427 SC Purcuit a few months ago, after lots of searching and reading etc etc, normal boat buying procedure!
I went for the Clark, due to price, build, and hull rep. (AKA Ally-Craft 425 Reel-Mate)
I purchased mine from Pacific Marine Centre who are a great bunch of blokes, and they are owned by Clark, so made options etc easier and less expensive!
I also got update pics and details of the build process!
I paid 15K for mine with Hull -painted, Bow Mount Bracket, Bow roller, Larger custom Live Well, Extra Storage Hatch and different Side Console with Glovebox: 40HP Mercury ELPTO 2T with 2 25lt fuel tanks one in rear storage hatch, and one up the front storage hatch, both plumbed to Splashwell: Oceanic Trailer: 12months Reg on Boat and Trailer, HDS-5, Partially Smooth Safety Gear, Anchor, and all wiring etc.
On the water the boat is fantastic, stable, even with 2 of us on one side its not scary!, rides very well. The boat is well built, and the dealers are very helpful! I even have there personal numbers for if I have an issue.
For the price, you cant really beat it, I am overall extremely happy with my purchase!

After looking and ummimg, ahhing and changing my mind for nearly 10months, I just joined the Clark Pursuit Club! Put a deposit down on a 427 Pursuit, flat sides with a Mercury 40HP 4stroke power start, trim and tilt. Got a great deal from Karee Marine. Pick up the boat in January when i get back from my next stint away at work - can't wait.
Just sold my 13 year old, trusty Quintrex explorer which was a bit sentimental, but look forward to getting out on the Bay a bit more and beach launching off straddie!

Nice work Richo, trevor is a great guy to deal with down at Karee Marine.
Lippa - I have the Clark Estuary Pursuit with a 30HpMerc on the back, she is a great rig and and love it to bits. Been pretty happy with the way she handles I think the estuary pursuit is a little more wider at the front as in the V is not as deep?? I guess than the pursuit model and has the lecky bow mount bracket on the front. It gets me around the bay and over to mud no worries handles the chop pretty well and the 30 gets her up and about. If I had the coin I would of went the 40Hp but I opted for the minn kota instead but as I fish with usually myself or one other the 30 isn't a drama at all.

Hi all,
finally the new rig has arrived! :D Managed to get 27 knots with 2 adults/2 kids on the first run on the river yesterday. Handled really well and very happy to say the least. Can't wait to get it out on the bay and spill some fish blood on it!
Regards,
Richo

Thanks Mossy, have been called back to work 10days early which is frustrating with a brand new boat sitting in the shed! Might try and get out in the morning weather permitting. Will have my 2 rug rats with me so won't be a big trip! Start work Sunday.....
Was that one of your mates that bought the Kakadu pro of Trevor?
Great looking boat - would have gone for one except I plan to get a liveaboard trawler style cruiser when the kids get a bit older, the pursuit will be the tender! That's my dream anyway, will see what reality brings).

Yeah Richo was a mate who picked up that boat, awesome looking rig can't wait to run it through its paces. Hahaha sounds like a good dream mate, I would love to live on a house boat somewhere but with animals its abit difficult. hehehe Oh and some way to fund that lifestyle....
cheers Mossy

They go great, have had mine all over the bay, even across the bar out to Point Lookout on good days.
Had it a few years now and very happy with it.

Yeah pretty good for a tinny. They all get wet with the right wind and chop but the pursuit is pretty dry most of the time.
The 4 stroke 40hp on the back goes great, however you've got to be careful backing into a chop as water comes in the back. I'm going to get some modifications made to help rectify this. Hasn't bothered me enough to have it done yet, I just keep talking about it [emoji12]

Thanks again Richo, I'm after a boat to get out in Moreton Bay, or the rivers/Jumpin Pin when the wind picks up so it looks like this will tick all the boxes.
I saw them at the boat show last night and was really impressed with the quality on the construction.
Just waiting for the dealer to get a quote to me for the 40hp upgrade and a few other options!

I looked at the Clark 427 but went for the Stessco Catcher 4.29 special, seemed like it was much roomier and after 18 months I couldn't be happier, very stable boat with lots of fishing room.

Thanks everybody for your feedback!
I ended up putting a deposit on a 4.27 Pursuit yesterday.
I added a few extras as well (Minn Kota mount, front battery rack, 3mm side upgrade and a bow roller).
Ended up going for the 40hp 2 stroke to keep the cost down.
Now the wait begins!
I'll post some photos up when she arrives :)
