After what seems months of rain, the timing not being right to get a clear pic of the bar due to run out tides or clouds. Today I got a clear enough pic of what the sand bars now look like. Somewhat different to what it was 12 months ago. Today I only had my iphone with me and this is taken from 13000 feet, the lighter areas are the sand bars, if Id had my high res digital cam, youd have seen it very clearly.

Hmmm, looks like a decent day to cross, no surfable waves inside the training walls!

Looks like you really have to hug the south wall and hang a sharp left at the end of the wall on your way out.
It's very similar to Evans it seems.

Ill try to get a pic of Evans too. Yes very similar sand bar formation, but surely you meant the North wall and hang a right out through the deeper water. When its breaking the southern side is white washed.

Ive played around with the contrast etc and got a better image showing the sand bars.

It's been a while since I used it. Goes to show you HAVE to look at what the go is every time you use a bar as things are constantly changing.
At least at Evans you can go and have a good look from up at the look-out and see exactly what the go is.
