Johnson 115 4 stroke = Suzuki 115 4 stroke, just different badge. Very reliable motors.

Its a rebadged Suzuki....very reliable.

Check the compression. Problems with the heads like the 140 Johnson I had. The later model Suzukis have suppossedly gone to a billetted aluminium with the heads that has fixed that problem. They can also chew out the alloy on the exhaust side. I've heard of a couple like that. Not the bullet proof motor they were once thought once they get a big of age or hours on them.
