Hi everyone,

Been a while since i put a report up so thought I would share some pics of the last few trips.

First one was up off Fraser Island in the Breaksea Spit area. Took Heath this trip to see if we could pop his cherry on his first Red. Didnt take long and he was no longer a red virgin which was a high light of the trip for me. Fishing was tough but we caught some good qaulity. 460km covered that trip.

Second was out from 1770 in the best conditions I have ever fished in. Fished from Fitzroy north all the way up to Broomfield reef. Most of the fish come from between 65-80m of water including the Trout.

Third trip was last weekend off DI/Fraser in testing conditions and slow fishing. Just as night fell we copped a good 20knot Southerly and loads of rain which continued all night. Longest night on the water I have ever had but the next morning calmed down and I finally found some good fish on a newly found spot after hours of searching. We got some big coronation trout, parrot, red throat and reds up to 14.1kg. Also caught plenty of other mixed reef fish with sizes of most fish all on the big side. Hussar were massive this trip also.

Most fish were caught on a paternoster rig on 80lb tackle with hussar and mullet fillets as bait.

Regards
Greg

Thanks again for all the reports, both on here and in BnB they're the main reason i buy the magazine, hopefully all the tips i've taken in from you can help me with some sucess at the Rainbow comp this year...... here's hoping!!!!

Awesome fish there Reefmaster, man you blokes do some km's.

I was wondering if those green jobbies from southern waters are any good on the chew? As I caught a couple of smaller ones around 4-5kg last year up north and they were rubbish. They were iodine flavoured and texture like scungy yellow tail kingfish. My old man got a couple the same size in roundabout the same area about 2 months later and same thing, crap. Just trying to work out if its a size thing or area thing. Cheers Ben

Great fish and wonderful photos yet again guys. You certainly put in the effort and do the hard yards to get the results.Isaac, the Jobfish I have caught off Noosa have been good eating - recon these would be the same only a couple of hundred kms North.

Awesome report Greg, heaps of great photos. You guys would have been buggered for the drive home. Can't wait to get a bigger boat with a bigger tank so I can get to some more exclusive reefs. Good to see someone getting onto some great fish in the south east.
