Fitting impeller to 1977 Johnson 35hp

Hey everyone I just recieved my impeller kit and it doesnt have gaskets, apparently they didn't have them on this motor.

Just wondering what type of gasket sealant I should use? Non-hardening or make a gasket myself...

don't know your exact motor, but most do not have a gasket, the surfaces need to be nice and clean and flat, there is a few types of sealants mentioned in various manuals for the pump housing, most are just some sort of "goo" remember the whole area is under water, and has water inside the pump as well, not a lot of sealing is needed.
