Are the red claw harder to catch during the winter months?

Plenty of big ones in NPD today averaged 30 per pot for 3 hour soak.
Havent got any in berry for a couple of weeks so they have stopped breeding with the cooler weather.

They powered on all through last winter but it wasn't much of a winter really, the larger ones may be harder to tempt.

Went to somerset sunday, fished from Kilcoy Clubs lease. My sounder packed it in so was having to set pots by estimating the amount of rope let out, got a few, no where near as many as I expected, but considering I was estimating depth I think I might have had the pots a bit shallow. I did get one or two in berry, of those caught most were big females, only a couple of males.

Locals said they were still there in good numbers. Photo of what I got.

I like anywhere between about 8 and 20 foot, depending on how bright the day and the clarity of the water. For me near submerged trees or near dropoffs in the 12 to 15 foot range is my normal target.

With North Pine I tend to get more overnight, but they tend to be smaller than those I get during the day.
