Headed to palmy this morn but it looked way to big so like many times before, made the drive south over the border hoping to find a sheltered launch. Unfortunately it was worse but there was the occasional break and i didn't want to drive all the way back home without giving it a go. Paddled out easily and trolled for macks to my jew pinnacle. No luck on the troll but managed to extract two jew from the reef and pulled the hooks on a couple more. I knew the tide was changing and could see the swell picking up from 3km offshore. Upon reaching the bar i realised that it was massive and was starting to regret coming out. But i said a few prayers and luckily i found a big gap and snuck in safely. Then i turned around and saw the bombs hitting the break and realised that it could have been pretty bad if i was in the wrong place at the wrong time, especially with rocks underneath the waves. Thanks to Nico for joining me and sorry to see you loose that monster.

Nice fish Chris..8-) 8-)

I had a go from the rocks for a Jew yesterday.....No good for me.
Had to fish a high ledge as the swell was pumping.

I can imagine what you had rolling through when you were coming in...:o

Chris, How hungry were you!! At least you made it home safely and with dinner!!
That same weekend I was down NSW near Cook Island and the swell out the back near Nine Mile was Massive.

Top Nut Huggin action,
Cheers,
Gav.

Yeah it was definitely out of control later and would not risk that again, but i did not see the 1.5 m increase in swell coming so quickly. I watch the bouys regularly on the net and haven't seen it go from 2.5 to 4m+ in pretty much ten minutes before. The morning paddle out was ok otherwise i would not have gone out.

Yeah...cheers, I wouldn't doubt that you knew the score. You've gone out that many times. And your crushin it with both hands. Top adventure.!!

where do you keep your livies in a yak? And ur game if your getting them at the jetty in a yak as it scary enough in a boat lol. Have you come across the Kingys on that mark yet as we have been landing them to around 17kg but the big ones we just cant stop on 80lb with 150lb leader. Hopefully the jew move in and kick those kingys out.

Matty i put the livies in my footwell it has holes to bring in fresh water. Would be keen to try the xos hoodlums I don't reckon i have caught a kingy over 20kg black apart from black king.
