i pick up my new boat this arvo and can tell you that i am happier than pig in mud,did a 20minute driver training with rafe from springwood marine and he was confident i knew enough to hand the beast orver to me. i droped him back at the pick up address and waved goodbye.head straight out to get use to the beast and am now quiet confident on driving the thing.i a still a novice driver but had the cat purring along at 30knts most of the arvo in 20 odd knot winds...have only been out of it for an hr and gee i wish i was still in it...to say i am happy with my purchase it would be an understatement i have a grin bigger than this ;D and will have for many yrs to come.
would like to thank the rafe from springwood marine for putting the whole deal together and would recomend him to any1 who is looking for a kevla cat. i have it moored down manly while i wait for the new trailer to be made and a new anchor winch will be put on when its put on the trailer.then the bottom will be cleaned.

cheers rosco

G'day

Is it worth asking the boys to put it on the stands up on the hard to stop any potential growth whilst the trailer is being built?

Awesome boat Rosco. will be interested in hearing about the learning curve between driving the Cat compared to the mono.

dave there was no room for the cat on the hardstands, the hull is antifouled anyway, hull and outboards will be cleaned off by springwood marine when its put on the trailer,

Rosco,
Got a 28ft Sailfish Cat with twin 150 Hondas. Took it for a run to Double Is Point from Noosa (home port) & came back at 35 knots in a .5 to a 1m swell & it just ate it up. Couldn't believe the difference between our 6.2m mono & the cat. If we did 35knots in the mono in that swell, we'd be booked in to the chiro. We did that at 5000 rpm & have been told we will open it up to about 6200 with a bit more time on the motors, which I would imagine will put us in excess of 40 knots. Huge difference in the handling, albeit a bigger boat, I just feel SO much more seaworthy & safe in a big cat. Funny thing though, it hasn't helped my fishing?

But, But, But, Rosco, it has a funny blunt bow!!!!!!!! Isnt that against all the rules of a mono owner?
The rest looks great though ( LOL)
