Can anyone give me a starting point to set the prop height for a 4.0 Webster . Cav plate around an inch above a line between the two keels and then go from there or or they different being a single powered cat? Any help appreciated.

Hello Mad Cat,
I have an older 4.3 with the older style splitter in the tunnel.
My cav plate runs at about the same level as the bottom of the splitter.
This is in the top adjustment hole on the motor bracket so can't go any higher.
It was setup in the top hole to lift the motor as high as possible so that it doesn't get dunked when at rest in the swells.
At this setting I can trim the motor up so that it will ventilate at speed.

I am not familiar with the splitter on the 4.0 but I would use that as a reference rather than the hulls.

How does the rig perform now?
Any cavitation or ventilation?
Too much spray?
What motor?
Any extra details would help.

motor height is very much trial and error, on a single engine cat, forget the two hulls in setting up the engine, it is the gizmo in the tunnel that will determine the motor height.
