I would be looking at 1.5litres per KLM to be on the safe side.. its like 70klm to the eastern side of boult.. so as a guide you would have roughly 60klm to fish around before turning home with a safe fuel margin.

Best Idea is to do some trial runs in your area to gauge fuel usage and calculate off that with a safety margin.

I know a 23 with a 200 yamaha get 1ltr per km so I would go with garry's figures for safety

Last time I went there I traveled about 220k for the trip. Rounding that up to say 250k with a fair bit of exploring, I would be taking a few jerry cans as well. Even though you would have enough fuel in your tank, I always take some carry on regardless of where I go.

As above, I would be putting in a few jerry's for piece of mind.

When you get out there empty the jerry's into the main tank and strap the empties up on the roof out of the way.

another thing to remember Mick, on these long trips, better to drop 500 or so rpm. Might take a little longer, but it is amazing the fuel savings that can be had.

I run at 4400 usually.

If doing an overnighter, you have 2 days of fishing out there, no need to rush. As Darren says, when you get out there, top up tanks with jerrys and then stow them for the return trip.

I would have thought the 320 ltr tank sufficient. I have a 180 ( plus take 3 x 20ltr jerrys for overnighters )

For a day trip to Boult etc.... uses 160ltrs.

But, also as suggested, keep a trip log on your GPS and sort out your fuel usage before heading up.

Cheers Phill

Are you looking for a plotter with a pre loaded chart or one that will run Navionics or C-Map?

I only have one word for you Mick...... Garmin ;D

Best you google them and make a choice.

mmmmm having said that. I just looked at their new range. Don't seem as user friendly as the old ones ?????

I run a 172c and a 176c. ( had the 128, 126 and 120 )

They take a Blue Chart. I have been told the navionics are better. ???
