I just bought a 3 year old 150 2 stroke for 6 grand, so sadly it's not going to be worth a lot at 17 yrs old. I think Rosco would be pretty close

Hi Timddo I Think 5k Is A Bit Unreakistic Its 17 Years Old I Think 3k Is Fair Dont You It Should Sell Reasonably Quick Priced At That

I got 4.2k for my '85 115 through ebay last year. That was with a mechanics report and in good nick. Thats top dollar I reckon..

I paid $5K for a 2004 90 hp DI 2 stroke with 300 hours two years ago.

I think around the $2K mark.

Cheers

Well mate it was 25 years old but in good condition as the mechanics report said. I would've been happy to get 2.5k but with ebay and at the start of the season down here things went well. I just had two people who bidded it up sight unseen. I think ebay can be a sellers paradise now. Check it out and offer to help with transport to a depot and you never know. Have a look in the completed listings for outboards and it will give you an idea of what things are going for.

You really don't know until you put it out there but when you do then things like a mechanics report makes people feel easier about bidding sight unseen. If its an honest motor then people have to see it that way.

Being the age it is and a cv i would reckon $2500. A new one is about $9000 i think from previous posts.

Two recent quotes as trade in.
1997 125 Mariner 2/stroke. 590 hours with a full mechanics favourable report.
On a 150 hp 4/stroke Yamaha.........$2000.00.

On a 150 hp 4/stroke Suzuki...........$3000.00.

Cheers.

I got a couple of quotes for my 2003 Cv 115 in good condition from dealers on a new motor. Prices where $ 4-4500.

2.5 - 3k sounds about right; given it has had a bit of work done it should go for a while longer.
Easier to afford than a new one, depending on the buyers' budget.......
