Finally a trip offshore,
1st for 3 months. Had a day trip up to DI on sunday. We managed 5 reds, 10 parrot, 5 red throat and 1 gold spot wrasse. we started fishing at 5am with very little current and picked most of our fish up before 10am. The current picked up in 60m but was still fishable. pity about the closure as we would have headed wider to chase some pearlies when the fishing went quiet. back at the ramp around 6pm in daylight for a change.

The boat is a mates, a cruisecraft 685 explorer. great boat to fish out of.

The bar was a bit hard to see around with the amount of water running around with such a large tide and the water clarity was prity crap close in, but great about 5 ks out. lots of flying fish around too.

Nice one and the smiles tell it all. The esky looks better with those reds in it, makes the wait seem more worthwhile.

Nice one Ballsie. I'm a bit envious mate with the number of miles I did on and off the water to try and find reds and didn't end up getting even one over the side...

Greg and his crew made up for it though :-[

Thanks for the report Ballsie, some nice reds there! Its been a while between DI trips, might have to make the journey back that way and find some more red ground, there is plenty out there when you start looking in the right areas :)

Hopefully the weather starts to settle down soon too!

Thanks for the report and pics
