Hi all boating experts. Looking for a boat (fibreglass preferred) in the 6 metre range, will be used in Cairns area - must have good entry/exit and/or swim platform setup for snorkelling and spearfishing, as well as general fishing and day trips. Not fussed at this stage whether it's cuddy cab type or centre console type, but if cuddy cab, should have a walkaround path (similar to Cruisecraft outsiders - if you're familiar with this setup) - anyway, keen to hear on make/models that meet this wish. Cheers

Have been looking for the same thing over the last 12 months, couldn't find anything in my budget suitable.

Like yourself, I wanted a 6mt plus glass walkaround with 4 stroke engine for around $40k.

Decided to import another from the US, ended up with a 2003 Triton 2286 Walkaraound with a 225hp 4 stroke Yammy and a brand new alloy trailer for under $30k. By the time it gets here will end up costing me a couple of thousand over budget but I get much more for my $$ than buying locally.

Worth cosidering looking abroad with the $$ at close to parity and there are a lot of companies doing some good deals on shipping.

Leezor - that certainly looks like the type of thing and you may be right on the import thing. Can I ask which website you sourced this from ? I've seen a number from google searches and not too sure on which may be best etc. Cheers

I found this one on www.boattrader.com (http://www.boattrader.com) but you can also look on www.yachtworld.com (http://www.yachtworld.com) too. There are probably heaps of others but these are ones I have used to source the Triton and the Seaswirl I brought in a couple of years ago.

If you do find something that ticks all the boxes do some research on www.thehulltruth.com (http://www.thehulltruth.com) , plenty of threads there in regards to what and what not to touch.
Cheers,

Lee

If your looking at going down that path you can try marine connections or watercraft mix.
