Native to Australia or your local area?

They are native to the gulf and northern Northern Territory. Distributions below about the Mt Isa lattitude are not naturally ocurring, man has relocated them.

Little from column A, little from column B :)

They are native to gulf catchments and the NT and some of the rivers up north on the cape which flow east (like the mitchell river). They have invaded a number of other basins and dams though and are not considered natural in those places where either the blue claw or the good ol' aussie yabbie (Cherax destructor) exist naturally. That's pretty much why there are bag limits only when htye are in their natural range.
