Picked up from the dealer on 4th jan, 175 suzuki 4 stroke, garmin 750 on an easytow trailer. Followed the break in instructions and erred on the conservative side.

It now has fifty four hours on it and we are rapt. Hardtop is a double bonus, offering shelter, and ensuring that the boat drifts bow first as opposed to our previous quintrex which drifted beam on.

Fuel economy is marginally better than expected with. 5 litre per km at 20-23 knots cruising and the same at 7 knots trolling, and consumption increases to .8 per km when travelling in ordinary seas 9-15 knots but not planing in a 15 knot headwind. Very pleased with that.

The hull rides well, although considering trim tabs as there is a slight list travelling in a cross wind.

Due to a stupidity incident (mine), it now has a four blade 15 1/4 x 20 prop, maxes out at 6k rpm, and found this made a big difference in a following sea, stern stays straight with no hint of movement, I think it is getting a better bite. The garmin serves dual function as the guages for the engine with real time fuel consumption. The new prop improved economy qround five percent.

The cockpit is large enough to fish four with comfort.

The hull rides nicely, although not as stable at rest qs the previous boat, but a very acceptable tradeoff.

The trailer works very well, and radical approach angles, the downside of the hardtop in windy conditions, are accommodated without any scratches, I was quite concerned on the day.

All up we are rapt with the whole setup, and really appreciate how sheltered the boat is when travelling.

Will write some more when I am not using a smartphone

Hi Thylacene,

I have been looking at that boat also (maybe dreaming is a better word), Can you stand up under the hardtop? In the piccies I have seen it looks like it is connected to the top of the windscreen.

I just put trim tabs on my 5.5metre halfcab fibreglass. Makes a hige difference. Wind list is easy to correct. My slow plane spped dropped from 19klm/hour to about 12klms/hour. It also helped with fuel at this speed as not as much boat ploughing through the water. I couldn't recommend them enough. All will do a good job so not going to enter the brand debate.

What boat did you have previously i.e. that you are comparing stability at rest too?

Regards Adam
