I am struggling to divine your meaning, I recommend you use your browsers spell checker.

Youd get atleast 200 km out of a tank with some margin for error at a cruise. Carby two strokes arn't to bad on fuel unless you troll with them or run high in the rev range.

no way... I would be thinking 140kms at most safely you might be lucky to get 200ks out of tank but some of those mercs use some fuel. might be different on a shallow V but not a 25 degree V

Mate

Used to have a carby 175 on the 19C Haines, kept records on fuel usage and K's travelled, pretty well spot on 1 litre a km, sometimes a bit better, sometimes a bit worse, depending on sea conditions and throttle usage.

It would be very close to this, based on the 175 litre tank I would be getting nervous around the 150 km travelled mark.

If you open it up, expect consumption to just about double.

Spelling????? Nothing wrong with my spelling....
Its very quick off the mark, Ive seen the same boats with up to 200hp, I was going for economy not speed, so I think it was a good choice.

Hi Pat

A 175hp would be a good match for your boat, 200 even better, (but I am a bit of a petrol head) plenty out of the hole, the 19C went well with it, I would consider them comparable boats, the Haines may be a little heavier.

Got a 200 opti on the back of it now, goes like a cut snake;D

I cruise around the 3800 mark, which is giving me about 24 knts, tops out at about 44 knts at 5750.

Cheers

Bill

Catfish

have a look at the below link if your boat is a bertram 20 it will give you some info

http://simplifying.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=345

VC

your haines should be a bit quicker as the V is not as deep and the 19c is just about the same weight by the books it is actually 80kg less

My 21ft Haines with 200hp Mariner (Mercury) EFI 2 stroke gets about the same as V-sea's : 1l per km so I too would be looking for the boat ramp at the 150km stage!

Hi

The 175 carby Johno was on the boat originally, I use to get about 1 k/m per litre, that's about what you would use with the 200 carby/efi you have.

The 200 Opti that I have on it now uses about 50% less fuel, I'm getting about 1.5k/m per litre up to about 1.7k/m per litre if I nurse it.

Hope this clarifys

Cheers

I had a Pride Bahia Mah. I ripped out the the V8 mercruiser and poded it up with a new 175 Yamaha 2 stroke in 2003. WOT 5800rpm 42knots cruise 4200rpm 27knots. Fuel Burn around 1km a litre. A good set of trim tabs will turn a good boat into a great boat.

Cheers Tinhead
