View Full Version : Whats that pin called that sets the engines angle?

Just bought a boat with a 96/96 mercury engine and need the below part but have no
Idea what it is :(

Just needs that locking pin for engine what's it called so I can eBay 1.
It's the pin that's in the engine frame/mount (that sets engines angle) then the engine than the engine rest on it.

You were halfway there " Tilt Pin " going by your description. Visit boatsnet.com and look up transom bracket assy for your model and it will not only have a schematic but also part number.

kool cheers gave up on that site b ut ebay came up with what i need.
can i dodgey one up? or is it apart im better of just waiting for anew 1 2 arrive from usa?

Ring around a few outboard wreckers, bound to have some lying around.

will do am in gladdy next week will try out that way. might also looks at the tilt cyliner as its pretty doggey as well.

Don't go there with the cylinder,you can spend a fortune and in 12mths have an ugly duckling again.Clean up any corrosion around the pump yourself and prime and recoat it using some Quicksilver phantom black.I do mine every couple of years.

iwth out sounding stupid it looks pretty keen might just be low on fluid how do i fix it?
