this is some mighty machine :o

The boat was built to over 10 metre survey specifications, very strong solid boat. the 4 engines are 353 Detroit diesels currently 90 hp each, can be increased to 130 hp each by changing the injectors, The 2 props are for economy, 12-14 knots at 5 lt per hour. The jets are for more speed 22-24 knots and 15 lt per hour with both operating, will increase to about 28-30 knots when engines increased to 130 hp. Jets are also for reversing and manoeurvering in tight spots. 2 fuel tanks hold over 400 litres total. Trailer has no brakes, is for in and out of the water (25km/hr). Can be transported on a low loader, with radar removed so not to be over height. Boat and trailer weigh approximately 10 ton. Boat is 10 feet wide. Hours on engines is unknown, were purchased second hand, all in good condition. Currently has turntable type coupling on trailer, which is an add-on. This can be removed and then used with the 75mm heavy duty ball. tank on the front of the trailer is for water and is for ballast to give traction when on boat ramps. Last time boat was used everything was in good working order, so should not take much to get ship-shape.

Can't see a 10 metre boat, at what, 7 ton, doing 30 knot with 2 x 130hp jets at the best of times let alone dragging the 2 "spare" props aswell & running gear, even in neutral.
Why would you build it, just cant see the reasoning. Leigh

PS: Looks like it sold for $30,200.00 :o :o

Look up clayton boats. Known solid good sea hulls for a semi planing hull. Bit baffled by the very expensive engine set up but always good to have a spare? or 3?

Top Bar boat??

I want a dash like that!

Would love to hear the story of the powerplants and boat but I'm sure all owners would be deaf

WTF +1 here too.

If you just tossed out either set-iup, the economy would jump 50% in just dead weight savings alone, let alone removing the drag of the unused prop or jet set-up.

Bit optimistic in the 15lt per hour figure. I'd bet it should read 15gallons.:o

All in all, a nice set-up.

10T on a 75mm ball? That is a little optimistic methinks.

Apparently was used by fisheries and tied up in the Brisbane river, years ago.One of the boaty fellas I was speaking to this morning remembers it and was called the Investigator back then.He reckons the jets were an after job not done here, only had screws.Would like to see her going full noise.Jim

Two things scared me

the need for a fuel tank on the trailer!!!!

yeah the two engine boxes look like coffins thats what i thought, its great that boats like this have history and can be identified as once living in brisbane! its a long way to SA guess its seen some serious seas over the years!

Was told that the jets were added for manuevering around cray pots.

Be very scarey towing that down the hill at Cape Jervis with no brakes on the trailer.

No thanks!
