4-Sure good luck to you all, I wish I had a boat right now. Lets hope that it does not get to the levels they are expecting. :'( :'(
All around my place poor people are evacuating their homes. We very lucky to be on higher ground.

best of luck to all and I fell terrible for all the people who have lost their family members.......just heard about the 4yr old boy that was lost during a rescue....just devastating and hope everyone stays safe. Losing your house would be nothing compared to losing your 4 yr old son...

The water is pretty high up here, at Mt Crosby and we are flooded in. We get a pretty good look at the water before most get to see it so my recommendation would be that if you think you might flood, don't take the risk. Get out whilst you can, especially if you have children. Get everything to higher ground because the amount of water we have received in the last 24 hours is unbelievable. The water they let go from the dam yesterday saw the Colleges Crossing rise from 8.8m late yesterday afternoon to now be 14m less than 24 hours later. Brisbane city should be getting this water mid morning. Couple that with the extra water they plan to release, its going to be pretty nasty. Somerset got a heap of rain today and yesterday and it still flowing into the dam through the catchment. That’s going to make its way into Wivenhoe over the next few days and straight into the Brisbane River.

I urge everyone who is thinking about evacuating, then just do it now. Better to be safe than sorry.

Don't be fooled into thinking everything is safe because the rains have slowed, because now is the time when things go bad.

Here are the pics that were taken by my cousin –

Here is what the Mt Crosby Weir looks like normally with no floods (borrowed from google) –

This is what it looked like yesterday (please note: look closely at the first pic and note the sign in the middle of the weir on the road now look at the pic below and you can see the up welling around the sign)

Also remember the water levels have risen an extra 5m since then.

Here is the sign at colleges crossing which was 8.8m –

And now this afternoon its was just below 14m –

If anyone is familiar with the Colleges crossing area, a big truck came in last night and took away the coffee shop and house on a flatbed because of the water height. They would be in water right now if they didn’t

Take care.

Cheers
