Just wondering if anyone has this combo of boat and engine as a mate has just purchased one and we are trying to get the correct prop for the engine currently it has a 15X21

Check the seamedia website - one of his contributors had a long term signature/zuk combo at that size.

Sounds about right. The 15x21 is the standard prop they run as they swing a bigger prop them most other makes. I have the same prop on mine pushing about the same weight and works well.
If your not sure about figures or performance ring SOLAS props as they know their stuff when it coms to propping a boat correctly.

hey mate if you can give us some running figures can help you out a lot more its a great package yous have got your hands on, ive done many hrs in the same combo you will be very happy.

wot - rpm/ speed ?
planning preformance ? (sluggish or pull the arms of a water skier)

No Smithy this is a brand new rig my friend would love to talk to someone that has owned one fo a while though as he has a few questions for someone that has owned this setup.as for performance figures we will have to do some runs . The reason I asked the question originally is that we went to the Shelf last week around 25nm and this used 42 litres a bit high be high this was checked using the fuel menagement system on board the other thing is the boat seem to need a lot of revs like over 4000 to get it up and going and at these revs the prop sounds to be cavitating maybe. checked engine height and this all looks good this boat was setup at the factory by haines so I would assume with the fact that they have the exact same rig set up for testing that this would all be the same as there boat. and cruise speed of around 22knt the engine is reving at 4200rpm I thought this was a bit highit dose rev out to 6000rpm on the money and this is showing 37knts.

With that you should be cruising at around 26-28knt.The fuel is high end,1nm or better per ltr.Even though my rig is smaller I get that economy.Engine revs between3900-4000,cruise 24knt.My prop is 17".Either height,prop or not trimming motor correctly.Jim

Hi I have the Signature 600RF with a F150 four stroke and went the Enertia it's a mercury prop they make the best props, this is how i come up with the the right prop for my boat http://www.mercurymarine.com/propellers/prop-selector/# got one and tested it and decided there and then this is the prop for my boat.
even if you don't decide to go the merc prop it will give you an idea of the pitch and size.

2000rpm 6.4knt
3000rpm 8.9 knt
3500rpm 14.2knt
4000rpm 21.6knt
4500rpm 27.2knt
5000rpm 30.5knt
5500rpm 33.7knt
6000rpm 37knt

the prop is a 15X 21 suzuki
The boat seems doey at around the 4000rpm and fuel usage is around 25lph looking for a good mid range cruising prop do a lot of long miles to the shelf and also trolling

There about the figures I get with an F150 Yammie which are about the same weight and CCs. I only get to 35knots for 5700-5800 so I am a bit overpropped but it is too much of a drop to go lower in the Solas range which is what I have on the back. The difference between the boats would be the Signature would be longer and skinnier than the Stabi plus being glass it will naturally slip through the water better as alloy has more friction in the water. Fuel economy with mine is all governed by trim and weight. Most of the time I have me plus 3 customers plus an esky of ice and a food esky plus all the gear I cart around. Drop back say one customer and I pick up 0.1Nm/l. If I go by myself I could probably get my 1.0Nm/l but real world I average 0.7Nm/l. Heading out trimmed fully in with tabs on punching a sea I am often 3100-3300 for 17l/h for about 11knots getting me around the 0.6Nm/l. Coming home to keep on the back of a swell without falling off I am probably doing 4200 for 22-24knots for 24-26 litres an hour at 0.8Nm/l but you coast a swell and it will jump up to 0.9 or 1.0. That is how I average my 0.7Nm/l overall. Sea state and weight will get you every time.

How many guys did you have aboard the day you went to the shelf? How much out trim do you get before hitting cavitation point?

By everything you read you need to be hitting your recommended maximum RPMs to get a good engine life. Lugging them is not suppossed to be good for them so don't be thinking about going for something that might give you less RPM at the top end but better mid range. There are certainly lots of prop shapes out there and the other guys have given you some pointers so it might be worth experimenting if it means that much to you.

Hi smithy it starts to cavitate at about half trim this seems to little to me may have to drop the engine down a hole.
