When I was fitting a new prop to my 140 HP Suzuki, I noticed that the large rear "splined brass washer" appears to have a extra piece on one side.
Is this for balance ??? and in what position should I locate it.
I should have taken more notice when I removed it in the first place.:-[

Are you sure it's for the rear and not the front??
The front ones have a tab on them to bend over to stop the big nut coming loose.

It's the one closest to the nut, to me thats the rear one ???. It's roughly 60 mm in diameter and 6 mm thick with a spline.
you have in this order:
brass nut
stainless steel washer
large brass splined washer (this is the one I'am concerned about)
prop
and then another large brass splined washer.

The tab is a balance weight and you have to synchronise it with the prop.
