The second day was filled with some great activity for the rescue teams. To now have a greater insight into a well managed event that had a great attitude to safety of both boat, crew and marine wildlife was of invaluable experience. To be onboard a rescue vessel with QAS Ambos and have another vessel nearby with scuba divers at the ready presented team members with the opportunity to put all the theory and training into a practical "rapid responce" application with a lot of other profressional rescue individuals.
Ambos, divers, helicopters, fire pumps, wildlife watches and plenty of radio comms.
The end result was a great weekend of fund raising for the base and enough money to contribute to the vessel running costs.
Thanks to all those who chipped in with a gold coin donation and came to look at the Power boats. Next year we are told it will have more water activities and be bigger and better again.. Bring it on!!
