$49800 Quintrex Topender

I just bought the latest Trailerboat Fisherman magazine which has a test on a 5.3 m Quintrex Topender with 100 Yamaha fourstroke. I couldn't believe the price. You guessed it $49800. I'm not slagging the boat on which which the review report very highly, but the price. I would have thought it should be approximatley $10000 less. Any thoughts? Cheers Winston.

My first thoughts is...

Telwater have been buying up smaller competitors, sometimes keeping the name going, other times not, for quite some time now.

I suspect we're starting to see the effects of this reduced competition upon Quintrex's pricing.

I would imagine it was a top of the line version with all the bells and whistles including a pricey sounder and GPS and all the Safety gear too. That may then be the retail price which is then negotiable.

almost all boat/motor/car reviews quote full RRP, they have to do so! whether the dealer can sell at full RRP is doubtful.

I recently purchased the above mentioned boat with 115 hp optioned up for $46k on an upgraded easytow trailer with full cover with stone guards. way too much but that's what i wanted so bugger it hey ?
