Anyone used it as an anti-corrosive on alloy boats?
How has it held up and do you consider that it has been affective.
Thinking of using Lanotec UP to paint the bilge in my alloy tub.
Cheers.

hey nigel, do you have any mates in the aircraft industry. i got a product called av/15 and av/30 (the number is it's viscosity) which is an airframe preservative off a mate of mine who's an aircraft metalworker (for an business who will remain anonymous) this stuff is made in france and goes on like a penetrating oil but goes hard like a varnish within a day or so. track this stuff down, i cannot recommend it highly enough.

My mate uses on his plate alloy boat. the first step is to heat it up and brush it on.
It also helps to have a nice hot boat out in the sun. I use it extensively on my trailer and I think it's the best. Also the side benefit is that it's not a hydrocarbon so if you get it on your skin it's not problem.

As an anti corrosive it's well proven and will do the job. As for stuff sticking to it and the bilge smelling like a wet sheep........Every hot summers day when it goes tacky your crew will be hanging over the side.

Try nyalic or as stated an airframe coating that is designed for alloy.
