Installing Jabsco Fresh Water pump

Hi,

I've got a jabsco par-max 1 pump that I want to install in my alu 4.85m runabout. I already have a 12v DC fused circuit with cig lighter connection right next to where the pump is going.

Question is, can I tap into this circuit to run the pump. It's 1.9 amps (it's only a small pump) draw. This circuit is fused back to the switch panel on the dash where I have a switch for the 12v outlet.

Yes, but your pump will run when you turn on the cig lighter socket... unless you have another switch at the pump. Also be aware of start up current, not that it should be an issue for you. Probably on a 10 amp fuse?

Yeah, that's no problem but I would also put another switch down at the pump so I can leave if off whilst using the 12v sockets if need be.
