We have this young dutch kid about to have ago at at a big solo trip.
I got to thinking......how does it all work with boat licences.
Considering these days, if it has a motor in it, it is clasified as a power boat in most places.
And the requirement for a licence varies from place to place, some on power, some on speed or what ever.
And I don't belive you can hold a power boat licence in most places arround here till you are 17.
SO.......what gives.
I know these sail boats get along with pretty small motors....( my mate pushes his 7 tonne catamaran with 2 x 10HP.
are the motors small..or is there some other work arround.....I recon it would not matter once past the 2 mile limit... but still ....
I notice when Miss watson came in....she was not at the helm once the official trip was over and she was not under sail.
just a thaught.
cheers
