Well i've bitten the bullet (& the bank manager) & traded my Horizon Northener 415 in on a Haines Traveller TD 157 ( http://www.travellerboats.com/content.aspx?pageID=20&mainID=4 ) which is the same boat as Scott Mitchell's & Breakthelines (Jay).

I've gone with nearly all of the options plus a Minn kota Riptide bowmount & a Lowrance hds-7 sounder/GPS ( bought through & to be fitted by Grand_Marlin ).
Hopefully it will be ready by the end of August/early September so i can get used to it before our annual trip to Yamba.

I'll post up some pics as soon as i get some.

Cheers
Mark

Mark that looks awesome - congrats. Now you've got that painful wait for delivery. Some pics would be great as they come through from the factory. What engine and configuration you going with? I see the video on their site says it can manage with a 25HP but they had a 50HP running on theirs.

Rhino,
I've gone with the Suzuki DF70A four stroke & the side console plus all of the extras you can see in the photos at the bottom of the page.

Tell you what, if the boat can run on 25HP it must scream with a 70. Good stuff...

DF 70 on a Haines, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Enjoy it.

Good luck with your new boat.
I've got a 485SF on order since mid April with about another 4 weeks before delivery. You might want to ring Haines to check on how long your boat will be.
cheers

I hope it dosn't take that long as it's pretty hard to fish the Clarence without a boat.

Thanks Jay, But this waiting is a pain..... I had to go & buy a new rod & reel just to keep me sane.

No difference at all. I think it's the only boat haines make that is sold under three different names.
Haines Signateure 485SF, Haines Traveller TD157 & the Seafarer Vantage 4.85 (Sports Fisherman).

Today i received the phone call i've been waiting for. Darren from Coastal Powerboats was on the phone to tell me that the boat had just been delivered & did i want to come & have a look. ;D;D

To say i was happy would be an understatement, The boys at Haines had done a hell of a job to get it done so quick & Darren from coastal had kept me in the loop the whole way.

A few pics. (sorry about the quality)

Thanks Scott, It would've been good to catch up (i think i owe Gordon a beer or three) but i have a few things to organise before i pick it up.

I havn't seen any reports of anyone with a 90hp on one. Maybe Scott can ask Gordon at the boat show & post back.

Gordo's new one has a 90 on it & will also be on display at the show as well - I look forward to catching up with those who can make it 8-)
