Here's a couple pics of my new cutting board. Had the frame made up by NB Propworks (Cairns) and it's built like a tank. Topped it off with 19mm thick PE cutting board. Not cheap but pretty sweet. Dimensions of cutting surface 70cm x 33cm. Managed to squeeze 5 rodholders on which will be good for getting those rods out of the way. A knife/plier holder will go on the side shortly. Can't wait to test it out if the wind ever drops

Nice slab of polyethlene...yeah not cheap when its thick is it. Bought a slab that thickness from my local plastic man recently to make up some mounting pads on the transom and couldnt believe how heavy the stuff is. Ended up being hijacked as a kitchen cutting board :(
Sweet looking unit congrats..but i agree...it cant work to its full capacity without a stubbie holder ;D?

Scuttlebutt, how does it drain. I see you have a drain tube attached.

Hi Dave, there's a drain hole at the rear of the cutting board surface. Bit hard to see in the pic. Hopefully I've set it up right so it drains to the rear and not to the front!

What I did, was mount some 12X12mm square aluminium, 15mm away from the sides, sealing it to the bottom. This formed a small U shaped gutter.

Then I fixed the board to the 12X12, I left the board short of the edges, thus forming a run off shelf .

Picture doent really show the drain gutter either.

I think I know what you mean Dave and sounds like a pretty good solution.

For mine if it drains forward I'll just make some adjustments to the plate it's mounted on, maybe a wedge or two until it drains to the rear.

Lancair if you're talking about my board, sorry, I didn't make it. All I can lay claim to is fitting the plastic and attaching it to my boat. I got the board made up locally in Cairns.

Would love to see a towel rail added to the front which is also a good place to rest the rod whilst baiting up.
