Can anyone tell me the approximate starting current draw for a 70Hp 2 stroke Yamaha..?

Mindi, about the only reply I could give here is why???

Off the top of my head I would say 50-100Amps but the "why" seems a more important question.

For a 3 cylinder Yammy I would think a battery of say, 460cca would be more than adequate.

cheers

Thks..problem solved....friend using Ark battery box and had connected the start cable to external accessory terminals...oops..blowing fuse not surprisingly...thats what raised the question ..the answer is to connect the thing correctly.

BM its also important if you want to move batteries , on a longer cable,.I asked this same question a couple of years ago , and no one actually knew then.

You can work the figure out but by far the easiest way is to use a DC ammeter.
I have 2 that just clamp over the wire and another which just sits on the wire to tell you the current.
The clamp style ones will just a maximum current. This is an eye opener sometimes.
One goes up to 400A DC and the other 1000A DC.
The other is just an average everyday sort of reading off a scale.
They're these (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=87461&group_ID=1477&store=australia&dir=catalog)

Finga, for one moment there, when I read the link, I thought it said "seductive meter".
I was thinking, I would like one of those( LOL)
