Just looking to purchase and upgrade, and considering one of these rods the bear s10 or s1oh both primarily used for spinning off the rocks, jew, large trevally and kingfish. after any feedback from any person who currently owns one, particularly in the same situation fishing from the stones,

ALSO those that have these style of rods, what reels are you guys using atm ??

cheers

I've got an S10H, primarily a boat soft plastic rod for snapper, tuna ect. I don't think either would really be great rock fishing stick. Give Eric a ring and get his advice he's a great guy.

Personally i like the s10h better, it has that bit more in the tip all the way through the rod being 6-12kg. For those large trevally and kings that is what i would prefer than being that bit softer and giving them a bit more before they feel that load against em.

I have the S10 and love it. I run a stradic 4000 on it. I use it as a good allrounder in the bay and for slickies and hard bodies at Mondy.
As said above, give Eric a call, he has great service and would let you know what the best matching rod and reel would be.

I have the s10h and useit for placcies and the occasional jig witty a 4500 sextreme saltiga with 50 lb braid. It's my go to rod when offshore it's a great fishing weapon IMO ....Matt

Mate they are only 7 footers, so you might want something a bit longer from the stones.
If you are keen though I'm sure Eric would build you something to suit what you want.
As Steve said just contact him and let him know what you want.

I have used a TwinPower 4000 and a Certate Hyper Custom 3500 on my Bear S10.
Both reels were a fine fit, the Certate felt better though.
Eric uses a Maverick 4500 on his S10 and Deb uses a 4000 Hyper Custom.

I use a stradic 5000. To me they balance better than the 4000 and you get more line and a couple of extra kilo of drag!

I have both the S10 and S10H and I reckon for your purpose, go for the S10H as you will most probably be throwing either larger baits or lures, which is where the S10H is better than the S10.
The S10 is a better proposition for lightly weighted lures. Both rods have plenty of grunt, but my S10H in the split grip configuration is beast of a stick, especially coupled to a Daiwa Certate 3500HD.
I reckon you should get both Masterdusky, you won't be disappointed. And while you're there, grab a S6 for throwing big unweighted SP's at Jewies, oh and also get yourself a S4 for your shallow water Snapper luring and .......
