Places like caparal aluminium, apple aluminium, onesteel aluminium. all sell it.

The main sizes you need is either 40mmx 20 x 3 for a light weight or if you want it heavier then use 60mmx32x3

The grade of extrusion is 6060 which is marine grade for extrusions.

Hope that helps

G'day,

Be careful. Not all extrusions are available in H321. And neither are all plate sizes.

I suggest you talk to a boat builder about what you have in mind and be guided. It might save you heaps.

I work for an aluminium extrusion company in Brissy.

You want 6082 Alloy T6 Temper. This is structural marine grade. (This refers to Extrusions only. You will need 7000 series for the plate/sheet)

If you do not need structural grade then 6063 alloy will be fine

I dont work for Capral however they would probably be your best bet as holding stock of marine Grade alloys is not something we do or is that common.

I just visit the friendly local boat builder and get off cuts off him for small jobs then I would take him a template for the plate and get him to cut it. I'm not in your area but there may be a local builder who can help. I figure its always good getting to know those guys as you never know when you may need them. If there like my builder a slab can go a long way on a friday arvo.:)
