Hi all, am going to grab a pflueger rod to go with my stradic 1000 loaded with 1.5kg braid and was wondering which rod would suit better, i have felt both in the shop and thought the 1-3kg a tad light but you cant realy tell unless you have used one so has anybody had a chance to use these rods, will be flicking plastics for flathead and bream with it, no snapper work thats what the berkley dropshot is for.. cheers.

i have the 2-4kg matched with a 2500 sized reel, nice little rod suited for light plastic fishing. As for a 1000 size stradic reel i personally think it would go nicely together with the 1-3kg. Its ideal for throwing lightly weighted plastics and small crank/jerkbaitsbaits at bream and bass.

1-3kg comes in 7', 1 piece rod
2-4kg comes in 6'6" and 7' in both 1 and 2 pieces rods.

I have a 1000 twin power on a 1-3kg pfleuger medalist

nice set up.

I also think a 2000 or 2500 would be better suited to a 2-4kg rod

Thanks guys, i had somebody hold the tip of the 1-3 kg while i loaded it up, although nice it seemed to bend near right through to the butt, the 2-4 kg seems a lot lighter than other 2-4 kg outfits thats why i was thinking about it for 1.5 kg braid for flathead ect..

I'd go the 2-4kg... Light enough to target the small stuff and has enough power in it to rake in a 70cm barra without too much hassle.
