Don't know him personally, but used to enjoy his reports. Seemed a knowledgeable and very keen fisho but haven't seen anything from him for a long time. Any of you Sunny coast lad's know why he doesn't post anymore????

There is several of the same genre missing of late, ffejadams, tailorboi, nagg, all noticeably missing from reports and discussions. Me thinks there is a new site out there somewhere they have gravitated to.

Nuggstar has been too busy at 'my' old giant herring spot haha. He's still around, just doesn't get on the net much. Ffejy is hanging out at a quieter forum, the rest, well, no idea.

I know some have gone awall because there is a clique in the fw section that only care about a certain dam near gin gin. Who here used to enjoy hardb8s detailed bass, barra, cod and tackle reports or little grey mans bass reports or alphas and flairj's reports on supertuning and custom painting high end japanese reels??

I know they still fish and report alot but just not here anymore.

Maybe nuggstar and the others mentioned feel the same way.

And right on queue the crew arrives.

Watch for the roll call of the usual suspects after this post.

Mainly sweetwater nowadays Kyle and a few other sites with no I.B.D.

Sweetwater is good,no ego's or emoticons.

You really should post some of your pics mate,Mrs. might be surprised..

The mrs. That is a very thoughtful and helpful response and really adds something positive to the topic at hand.

As for where i fish, i dabble in just about everything, from morton bay snapper and longtails, whiting, gar, bream, squid pretty much anything that time and weather permits me to target. Over the last 5 years i have grown very fond of the many sweetwater locations that qld has to offer.

Alphas no one on here wants to know about wild bass and cod unless of course its written by a member of the crew.

Sorry that this thread has gone off the rails. Some people on here take life to seriously.

Last time i saw nuggstar he was workin at the blibli barra farm does anyone know if he's still there? He was posting on another forum not long ago.

Man o man... Im loving this sh*t!

Aslong as you blokes know that theres a better forum out there, thats the main thing. Young nuggstar (seems like his a hell of a lot brighter then the naggstar) might have already got the message. Thumbs up to young blokes!

Now, go to the top of this page (Page 2) - check out the first post on this page, and then look across at the avatar/display picture. Kind of sums things up, don't you think?

Ego's???? Really????? Looking from my perspective, someone who reads and posts in both FW & SW, I have to say that I have not struck any of the FW guys as having ego issues at all. I also used to read Nuggs reports and found them very entertaining and informative and it is a shame that he has moved on, probably due to one persons reply which offended him, one persons opinion does not make a rule. I hope he returns.

I have to say that all of the FW guys I have spoken with and met from Ausfish, nearly all of them have been more than happy to share their info and pass on tips, in particular Nagg, Trevor, Brian, Richard, Deano, Matt, Ben & Pete. All of these guys have helped me out no end in the past on everything from Lure selection, reel choices, spots etc etc, not just in regards to Mondy but from Hinze to Awoonga and everywhere in between. Having met a few guys at the ABT event at Mondy for my 1st FW comp last December only proved to me that these guys are genuine, top blokes more than happy to help a stranger get onto the fish and share their knowledge, even in a comp situation! Clearly there maybe exceptions to the rule but I'm personally yet to see it, I also know of a very talented Gold Coast Bream fisho who has bailed from Ausfish, and I quote "due to all the polical bull$%&# and w%$&ers", don't think he was talking about or posting in the FW section neither.

Cheers, and keep a smile on your face, Jamie.

I have to say Jamie, I have had similar experience to you from a lot of people on this site including some of the guys you have mentioned. From those that I have met (both salt and freshwater fisho) from ausfish, most have been top people to socialise with. Not all their comments/actions I agree with, but I don't have to agree with everybody, nor them with me.

I am pleased that Nuggstar is travelling ok as I too really enjoyed his posts and the information he provided. If one of his mates on this forum can pass on congrates on the youngster.

It funny how we get conspiracy theories as to why someone doesn't post on a site anymore ....... sure some people get the shites with someone/s or they may even get disillusioned.
Probably the reality is that most have moved on to other things , get too busy , had a family , discovered women or simply loose interest. I know there were 2 forums that I was quite active on that I simply stopped posting ...... for no real reason..... other than finding something better!
Now like many of us who liked Nuggs posts & miss his contributions - the reality was that his post count dropped away over the last 9 months or so ( around 2 dozen posts only) ..... with breaks in between. - now didn't someone say he became a father! - so his MIA is totally understandable:smiley: .
I'm pretty sure once life settles down - we will see him back on Ausfish .

Chris

PS ...... To those many supporters of the FW chat - good onya ! as most of you would know, there is a great bunch of contributors here! -

To those detractors - why dont you make the effort to join us at one of our upcoming gatherings (Mondy or Somerset) ....... you just might see what the fuss is about & even enjoy yourselves. - the invitation , like every gathering is an OPEN one.

As for referring to this FW chat as a clique  - Everyone is welcome to participate & join us .... so clearly , its not a clique

Well said Jamie, I couldn't agree more and I agree with your GC bream fisho too. This site has become politicized and narrow minded over the last few years, but that is the choice of those that run it, it’s privately owned and if we don’t like it, move on. There are quit a few “cliques” on here, in fact AF is a clique itself, the fisherman’s view. It’s not a cross section of Australian society, if you don’t agree with it, it’s not the place to be, a bit like a “greeny” joining the Shooters Party and complaining. I’ve had a little to do with the Mondy “clique” of late and from what I see they’re a top group of people. I’d love to hear what “HaiyPunts” problem with them is???

Cheers Dids

Nagg theres no conspiracy about it the people i have metioned have left af for this reason, i might be a sh!t stirrer but i dont throw around blind accusations.
There are more that have left for this reason but i won't mention there names without consent.

Didley i have no problem with the mondy crew as far as i can see its a group of people that love fishing. I have met a few of the regular mondy posters and they seem like top people.

Does it matter, really, I mean who cares. The sun still came up today.
People come, people go, people get the pouts. People move to other forums. Peoples lives change, their computer blows up, they find it a lot more interesting to live life in the first instance, rather than in front of a VDU.
Reading some of the posts makes me want to go.
Words on a keyboard, its just words on a keyboard folks.
Have a look at the top of the page, it says "Chat Boards", not insult boards, negative posts boards or smart arse comments boards. If you want more hard core, no nonsense discusson, try logging on to Sweetwater.
Negative coments and snipping posts only lead to more BS, so lets pull it up hey.
With all due respect to The Missus, lets all pull out the front of our strides, and make sure we are men, not whingy gossipping sheilas hey.

alphas
29-04-2010, 09:18 AM
True Brian, and whingey gossipping sheilas comment must be appilied across the board.
Even Fitzy had to pull up some whingey gossiping sheilas in the committee meeting thread.
Works both ways.
some threads here that reach 20 pages in length also may be called gossip.

Like you said,it's a chat board-everyone should be allowed to air there views and thoughts.
