I just paid $299 for $16,500 so that sounds about right.

depends what's covered -
when i first insured my boat it wasn't covered for theft unless stolen from my house. I.e if i went to away for a weekend and it was stolen from the campgrounds - bad luck. I didn't realise this until i read the fine print when i went to renew the policy.

I gave the insurance company $305.00 for a $34,000.00 new boat etc
But you also need to look at excess,discounts and extras

I just paid 377.00 and mine is worth less than 20K. Has nearly doubled in the last 5 years. I think I may need to shop around next time.

use a broker, its their job to shop around...

Make sure you know what you are covered for! Some insurance companies are no longer covering thigs like engine damage resulting from things like plastic bag ingestion. Price is one thing, cover is another altogether.
