Unless you have recently been cured of IBD then Mondy is the only option.
New water - yes, but it looks tempting doesn't it?
Tough bite - no change there! Consider it a challenge and rise to it!
Magnificent scenery & surrounds.....
If you wait another week, we will see you there...

How many days?
Borumba, closer, cheaper camping. Mondy is a day written off either way and the camp fees are now expensive.

I got an email from Wide Bay Water re camping at Lenthalls. Apparanttly they are in the approval stage (whatever that means), but couldn't advise when this will be granted.
Wongi isn't that far away though.

Is it next weekend you are heading up ?
yeah, thinking about it mate.
Ive got touch footy Tuesday nite, then Noel and his young fella want to fish Brumba for a couple of days, so maybe brumba Wed and Thurs nites, then head off up the track to Mondy for Fri and Sat, come home Sunday.
Dunno, if I can talk Noel into a Mondy run, plans change again.
You going up?

If the go pro cameras turn up ..... then I could be at Borumba ! - though there is a bass comp on Sat / Sun ..... so your timing at Borumba could be pretty good !
Chris

I hear that Lenthals has a more manicured feel about it :-/ - not a wild (& vast) like Mondy.
I like Borumba too .... because you feel that you are away from it all - the minute you turn the bend out of the main basin 8-)

Ha ha ha why not do both.
Good to have a back up plan if Mondy gives you a bad feeling and then head back to Borumba or to throw a spanner into the works what about Awoonga?
Cheers
Lee
I hear theres a few around in Awoonge Lee, but really need to get some time on the new water at Mondy I spose, best take the plunge and eat a bit of pain sooner rather than later.

..;D..But l am off to Borumba for the week
dunno either Trev, some blokes missus brothers best friend saw a picture of a barra that another bloke was cleaning at the fish markets, and word is it came from a hot bite at Awoongy trolling the dam wall.
Trick is dont get to close, in case the boat falls over the spill way apparently.

Brian,
Head up to Mondy, if you get the poo's there you can always come back to Barumba. At least you know where there is a whole there to catch fish in. ;)

Thanks Dave, if I get up there I'll drop in and say gday and spill a cold one with you.
Is this the trip we were talking about at borumba??

Apart from the ten million boats::) ten million cars at the ramp::) and ten million people at the camp grounds::) .
Lenthals is great fishing with no crowds and an insane surface bite.I hope the camp grounds dont get approved at lenthals so it doesn't turn into another flogged barra dam.::) :P
In regard to your trip brian borumba all the way.
cheers hairy.
Shame about the camp ground, I'd fish Lenthals if it had easy camping facilities at the water. Its time will come with the crowds, as the barra get bigger, and word gets out more, the crowds, and meatos, invariably will turn up.
Not much you can do mate, thats the curse of living in the SE corner of QLD I spose.
