i have this sounder and if any one could give me some help i would like to know how you tell the different bottom readings etc SAND,ROCK ,RUBBLE , ETC. any help on this would be greatly appriciated , always run on auto when using this sounder

I have a 600fcv very simialr I am told. I had a yarn to a guy in barra jacks in rocky the other day. He said that the harder the material underneath the thinner the bottom line is. different stuff shows as differnet colours it is also possible to change the colour of the target you are seeking (eg fern ). Run it on 200 khz unless you are in really deep water.
